Leadership Development in the Representatives of Scheduled Caste

Abstract
The Republic of India can be kept strong only through the development of local self-government institutions and rural areas, and reservation in local self-government institutions is possible for the development and empowerment of the poor Scheduled Castes section of the society. The objective of the present study is to study the development of leadership among the representatives of the Scheduled Castes in local self-government institutions. The study area is Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh. A total of 300 public representatives have been selected as the unit of study through objective method. The data was collected from primary and secondary sources. After the study it became clear that the reservation in the local self-government organization has led to the development of leadership capacity among the representatives of the Scheduled Castes, they have got the courage to speak their mind, work is done by them to solve the problems of their ward.
