Abstract
Tribals could not get equal rights in India's economic and social progress. For this, the policies of the government cannot be blamed for this; one of the basic reasons for this was their segregated lifestyle, which could gradually be linked to development programs. The purpose of the present study is to study and analyze the development indicators of tribal population. This study is based on secondary data. Census 1951 to Census 2011 has been used for the compilation of data. The percentage of the collected data has been presented through maps and diagrams. According to the Population Commission 2011, the percentage of tribal population in the total population of the country is 8.2. India cannot develop unless their backward classes can not develop. The point to be satisfied is that it is no longer a disadvantaged group, but now they have a role in every field in some way or the other.
