Participation and Awareness of Villagers in Planning and Implementation of Social Services

Abstract
Provision has been made to constitute permanent and ad-hoc committees for the implementation of the decisions of the Gram Sabha. The participation of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and women, participation of users and beneficiaries has been ensured in these committees. In order to increase public participation, the Panchayati Raj Ministry of the Central Government has been brainstorming on some new points since 2011. Which, to strengthen the Panchayati Raj system, will be included in the proposed Constitution Amendment Bill. In the present research, the researcher has studied public awareness and public participation in planning and implementation of social services under democratic decentralization. For the study, the panchayat area of Barwani and Khandwa districts was taken as a whole. Interview schedule, direct observation and group discussion methods have been used by the researcher for collection of primary data. The study shows that according to the beneficiaries, there is equal participation of people in the planning and implementation of social services on the basis of caste.
