Abstract

As a measure of social security, NREGA was introduced by the government in the year 2005 to provide employment security to the poor of the villages, as well as through it emphasizing the use of labor to build rural infrastructure in the country. The National Rural Employment Guarantee Act guarantees 100 days of work to all households. The present paper is a study based on micro level i.e. 80 families selected by divine guidance from eight village panchayats of the district. And its main objective is to study the effect of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme on employment and rural-urban migration.
