Chhattisgarh's First Organized BNC Mill Workers Movement: A Historical Persuasion

Abstract
Rajnandgaon has the distinction of being the first and ancient industrial city in the whole of Chhattisgarh. The labor movement here is directly related to B.N.C. from mill. The work of construction of this mill was done by Macbeth Brothers of England, this mill is built on 5 acres of land near Rajnandgaon station. Thakur Pyarelal Singh was a true well-wisher of the poor laborers. From 1918 to 1940, B.N.C. Mill workers led initiated labor movement in Chhattisgarh region. During this, he obtained permission to practice law in Rajnandgaon by meeting a political agent because it was finding it difficult to keep in constant contact with the workers of Rajnandgaon from Raipur. Under the leadership of Thakur Sahib the workers of the mill had a long strike of 37 days. For this he was also made District Magistrate
