Abstract

The issues concerning women’s perspective roles in the process of development were recognized and attracted attention of politician, policy makers, social scientist, activists, planners and implementers globally. Thus affirmative actions were initiated and the women’s education was considered as the top most priority and efforts were made accordingly. As a result in recent years women member representation in different sectors is observed yet inadequate, struggle and faces more challenges compared to that of the male members. The women are still underestimated, exploited, discriminated and denied adequate representations in professional institutions of higher learning. It has systematically kept away the women from aspiring of professional education and acquire skill so as to perform or hold responsible positions in higher education. Therefore, an attempt has been made in the present paper to assess that how far the women members could succeed in getting professional education in higher education and acquired managerial qualities and capacities. Further it would also explore that the extent of such women could get an opportunity to demonstrate their skills in the area of management of higher education. It aims to explore the discarding and encouraging factors responsible for women members involvement in the management of higher education and the measures taken thereof.
