Main Article Content
Abstract
If a person is free from any kind of mental illness, then he is considered mentally healthy and his condition is called mental health. The purpose of the present study is to explore the mental health of students on the basis of environment and gender. As a sample, 800 students of higher secondary schools of Durg and Raipur districts have been selected by non-proportional stratified random method. The mental health scale developed by Pramod Kumar was used for the measurement of mental health. To verify the null hypothesis, the mean, standard deviation and t-value were used as statistical analysis of the data. The results of the study show that while there was no significant effect of urban and rural environment on the mental health of the students, there was a significant effect of gender. It is known from the results that the level of mental health of the Boys students was found to be higher than that of the girl students.
