Abstract

After independence, many small and big developmental projects have been constructed in India. Due to which the development of the country has got a boost. Keeping this objective in mind, Yamuna Expressway project was started in Uttar Pradesh. In terms of development, the fact that the Yamuna Expressway project has given a boost to economic development is acceptable. Anyway, all the possibilities of economic development have been connected with this highway.  Keeping this background in view, this study has been focused on the changes in the social and economic life of the farmers affected by the Yamuna Expressway project. 210 farmers affected by land acquisition have been included in the study. Information from farmers affected by land acquisition was collected through an interview schedule. The implementation of this project is showing a positive impact on the social and economic condition of the farmers. In addition, farmers are getting a fair price for their agricultural produce. Due to the connectivity of traffic from the urban area, it has helped in increasing the awareness of the farmers and adopting scientific farming method.
